Due to the fact I was pretty happy with the original reindeer hand rendered illustration the vector version was really easy to design. With this design however, I got to experiment with the colour a little bit because reindeers come in all different colours. I tried everything from really dark colours and then a constrating hoof, antler etc to the opoosite way round where this was quite dark. The nose was of course going to stay red so he could be recognised as rudolph and of course this links back to Coca-Cola.
These colours were my favourite through all the ones I tried because the browns are quite warming and positive. They both work really well together even though they are constrasting and also compliment the red nose well. These colours also make the character look quite realistic and it seems as though it has a personality. The design is again, really simple in keeping with the rest of the imagery i'm going to use.
